BUILDING TENANT POWER IN KENTUCKY

KY Tenants is a tenant organization fighting for everyone in our state to have safe, high quality, permanently affordable housing, stewarded by the community. We bring tenants together into building-, neighborhood, and city/county-level chapters to fight for changes that improve our quality of life and build power in our communities. If you're angry, tired, and fed up by the state of housing in Kentucky, join up and fight with us!

WE ARE

KY TENANTS.

As a tenant union, we form city-level chapters that:

  1. Run and win strategic campaigns that move our state and local governments to pass better housing policies and tenant protections.

  2. Organize and train tenants to form building- and neighborhood-level tenant unions that improve conditions where they live, and build the people power needed to secure larger wins in the future.

  3. Build up our leadership and economic power to steward resident-led social housing.

Build and fight with us! We want to meet you, hear your story, and find out what kind of action you would want to throw in on. We’re a tenant union, which means we show up for each other, get trained and resourced to fight, and organize for our collective power.

Any size contribution is meaningful. Funding KY Tenants funds organizing trainings and political education, tenant resourcing and empowerment like childcare, transportation, and lost wage compensation, and the intensive work of organizing our fellow tenants.

OUR CHAPTERS

Currently, we’re a two-city operation, but we have plans to expand. Members of our Lexington and Morehead build tenant power to fight landlords and build tenant power.
